Personal Business Plan

Business Environment

I will be competing in the law enforcement industry. This is a good global industry because there is crime everywhere and a need for law enforcement. The factors due to economics in this field is that places with less money, there is more likely to be higher rates of crime, therefore directly relating to the amount of people in law enforcement. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the possibilities of job fields for a criminology major are thriving and are unlikely to result in unemployment.

Entrepreneurship and Strategy

I see that the main problem with advertising and marketing "me" is that I need to do something that can separate me from everyone else and better equip me for getting a possible career. My first course of action as an entrepreneur would be to get several satisfied notable customers (references) and build a resume to sell myself to customers (hiring jobs).  

Management

As the manager of "me" it would be my responsibility to plan, organize, direct, and control what "I" do. This would include creating a detailed plan of what i want "me" to achieve, make sure that everything in the plan will be done, tell "myself" what I need to be doing, and finally, make sure that "I" achieve "my" goals. I would manage employee "me" by making sure that I am following the action plan created in the first step. Motivating myself would be the easy part since my "company" directly affects me. It would be crucial for me to make sure that I attract myself to the right industries or professions, set and achieve goals, work well in teams, and communicate with coworkers and bosses.

Marketing

As the CMO of "me" I would promote "myself" by looking as professional as I could in times when others would see me. My potential customers or target market would be companies that  I would like to be hired by. My price would be how much I hope to make in a career, my product would be myself, my place would be where I hope to be hired at, and my promotion would be dressing for success and a good resume. I would develop myself as the product that people would like to buy (hire) by being as professional as I can and making myself as qualified as I can for the career I am hoping to get. I would optimize my online presence by making sure that my LinkdIn was as professional and up to date as possible. 

Accounting and Finance

I plan to manage my own investments by keeping an eye on them and making sure not to get overzealous. I would create a financial plan for company "me"by determining how much income I am making and plan to make versus the amount of expenses I have and set financial goals that I a working towards eventually achieving. 

Information Systems and Operations 

I would use WebFOCUS as my information systems tools and analytics to optimize my productivity and operational efficiency. With the research I have conducted, WebFOCUS is the best tool to determine what to do to increase your efficiency as well as net profit.

Cameron Smith Dr. Chung BUS 105 5 December 2018 IA 04 I attended Chatham’s Business and Entrepreneurship Club Accounting and Information Systems Networking Mixer on September 25th. The event had speakers that spent a little while talking about a number of things. The speakers took time to talk to the audience about aspects of business and then allowed for the audience to ask questions that they wanted a professional’s answer on. The event included a two hour panel that was conducted by Dr. Chung. Individual Assignment #2

IA 02           The person that I chose to interview is a criminology/psychology major in their third year at Chatham. My Interviewee preferred to stay anonymous, but said that in their free-time they enjoy going to the Cold Cases Club meetings, watching Netflix, and hanging out with their friends.            My interviewee said that the study strategies that they have found most successful while here at Chatham are studying with flash cards, and studying with a friend. The reason that they claimed these are the best study methods are because they allow for you to study with interaction. Studying with a bunch of flash cards is a good way to learn because it allows you to go over a topic and giving yourself an attempt at solving it before flipping it over and getting the correct answer, which makes the memorizing of a topic more convenient. The article that I read was about whether or not the Israeli army is prepared for war.  In this article, they discuss why there are doubts about the Israeli army's ability to fight a war. The debate is going back and forth between levels of the government since some believe that they are ready for a war, but many involved in the military claim differently. One of the arguments being made about the IDF or Israel Defense Forces is that they have had " long  periods of low-level operations in which their military skills are eroded." This is a large setback for the IDF because they have been traditionally considered one of the best equipped and overall militaries in the past and now it appears that they have fallen off.
